The new Bareos 16.2 maintenance version contains improvements and bugfixes. Subscription customers can find installation packages for Windows and all supported Linux distributions in their repositories. The source code is, as always, available on GitHub.
The update provides performance improvements, especially for environments with a large number of directories, through an adjustment made to the .bvfs_lsdirs command. On Windows, an issue with the silent upgrade option the installer (winbareos-*.exe /S) has been fixed.
The release contains several more bugfixes and enhancements, for example:
- Fixes a Director crash that occured on certain configurations when enabling debugging output
- Utilize OpenSSL ≥ 1.1 if available on the distribution used
- Windows: restore attributes also on directories (not only on files)
- Packages for openSUSE Leap 42.3 and Fedora 26 have been added
